Archer Station
2600 W. Pershing Road
City of Chicago, Cook County, IL
OWNER: Archer Station, LLC
Archer Station is a 6.30-acre infill Planned Development (PD) located in the City of Chicago including a 40,000 square foot anchor tenant and other mixed-use commercial out lots. The original site contained a vacated 100-year old CTA bus storage facility that included numerous environmental obstacles. CEG coordinated with other consultants working with the IEPA to coordinate demolition to prepare the site for the commercial development.
CEG assisted Archer Station, LLC by providing site infrastructure engineering and coordination with various City of Chicago governing agencies, including CDOT, Department of Water Management (DWM) and Office of Underground Coordination (OUC) as well as meeting various specific Planned Development requirements relating to BMP initiatives.
As part of the Planned Development, CEG performed a cost-benefit analysis to provide green infrastructure onsite utilizing permeable pavers within the proposed parking lot. Since land is a high commodity in the City of Chicago, CEG was able to meet stormwater detention by installing a combination of a dry basin in the northwest corner of the parcel and parking lot storage within the stone subgrade voids while meeting all ordinance requirements.
